Well, here goes nothing. I have officially taken my first step on the journey toward learning no-code development. It’s a funny story actually…
I came up with the name “carpentercoder” when I first began entertaining the idea of building in the digital world. At this point I have listened to hundreds of podcasts on entrepreneurship, web development, marketing, online businesses, etc. One of the most common pieces of advice I heard was to blog about my experiences. At first, I thought this was a hilarious idea since blogs sounded so.. early 2000’s to me. But then I remembered how many blogs I read on a daily basis here in 2024.
As a carpenter, I get a lot of satisfaction out of building things. Stepping back at the end of the day to admire something that was not there in the morning is a sweet sensation. I figured that building in the digital world could be an interesting next step for me: enter coding. Down the rabbit hole I went, searching for resources on coding/software development and what it all meant. I am a lifelong non-tech type of person and really had no idea what any of it meant. About a week into my research, I started coming across lots of content on “no-code/low-code development”. It turns out that in our current day and age there are many tools available to build high-functioning websites, internal tools, and mobile apps without writing a single line of code: exit coding, enter no-coding.
I was immediately hooked on the idea of no-code development. It sounded right up my alley as a non-technical person and visual learner. So yes, this blog is called “carpentercoder” and at this point I have no plans of learning to code. But “no-coding”? Let’s see what it’s all about…
